Heart Attack Grill spokesperson Blair Rivers died this earlier this month at the age of 29. Its website boasts, “Over 350 Pounds? Eat For Free!” as well as the warning, “In some case mild death may occur.”
River weighed 575 pounds at the end of his life and died of pneumonia. According to the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, there have been studies showing obesity to increase the risk of respiratory complications, including pneumonia. River’s body mass index was greater than 60 kg/m2 which put him in the highest risk category.
